Sets Personal Record at 1,500 meters to Rank Second in NCAA Division III this Year SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University runner Olivia Mancl (So./Fr.., Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) has been named Northwest Conference Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week after recording a personal record time of 4:34.71 in the 1,500-meter run during the Charles Bowles Celebration of Distance at the Willamette Invitational on Saturday, March 28. Mancl moved into fifth on Willamette's all-time list in the 1,500. Her time ranks second NCAA Division III this season and leads the NWC by 9.86 seconds. She is more than 15 seconds in front of anyone other than a Willamette teammate on the NWC performance list. At the Willamette Invitational, Mancl placed ninth out of 12 runners in the "A" section, trailing six unattached athletes, one club team runner, and one runner each from NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II. Mancl was the only NCAA Division III athlete competing in the race. Several Bearcats will run at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday, April 3 in San Francisco, California.
