Daniel Named NWC Women's Field Student-Athlete of the WeekPublished by
Leads NCAA and NWC with 17' 5.25" Distance in Long Jump SALEM, ORE. -- Bekah Daniel (Jr., Silverdale, WA/Central Kitsap HS) of Willamette University has been chosen as the Northwest Conference Women's Field Student-Athlete of the Week for the first week of the 2014 outdoor track and field season. Daniel earned a victory in the long jump at the Willamette Opener on Saturday, March 1 at the Charles Bowles Track. She achieved a distance of 17' 5.25" to set a personal record while moving into a tie for 10th on Willamette's all-time list. She improved her personal record by 4.5 inches. Her winning distance ranks first in the nation in NCAA Division III this season and also leads the Northwest Conference. The Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday, March 8 at the Lewis & Clark Triangular Meet in Portland, Ore.. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (PST).
